چکیده

We derive explicit results for the asymptotic probability density and drift velocity in systems driven by dichotomous Markov noise, including the situation in which the asymptotic dynamics crosses unstable fixed points. The results are illustrated on the problem of the rocking ratchet.

Stokes’ Drift and Hypersensitive Response with Dichotomous Markov Noise

The response of a Brownian particle to an external force is one of the paradigms of statistical mechanics. Brownian motion is usually described as a Wiener process and a full mathematical analysis is possible based on the solution of the corresponding Fokker–Planck equation. However, a genuine Gaussian white noise does not exist in real systems, and the importance of other types of noises has l...

Stochastic processes driven by dichotomous Markov noise: Some exact dynamical results

Stochastic processes defined by a general Langevin equation of motion where the noise is the nonGaussian dichotomous Markov noise are studied. A non-Fokker-Planck master differential equation is deduced for the probability density of these processes. Two different models are exactly solved. In the second one, a nonequilibrium bimodal distribution induced by the noise is observed for a critical ...

Noise-induced transitions in state-dependent dichotomous processes.

In a number of stochastic systems the random forcing is represented as a dichotomous Markov noise. A common characteristic of these models is that the noise is usually supposed to be independent of the state of the forced dynamical system. However, there are several situations in which positive or negative feedback exist between the system and the random driver. This paper investigates a class ...

Continuous dependence on coefficients for stochastic evolution equations with multiplicative Levy Noise and monotone nonlinearity

Semilinear stochastic evolution equations with multiplicative L'evy noise are considered‎. ‎The drift term is assumed to be monotone nonlinear and with linear growth‎. ‎Unlike other similar works‎, ‎we do not impose coercivity conditions on coefficients‎. ‎We establish the continuous dependence of the mild solution with respect to initial conditions and also on coefficients. ‎As corollaries of ...

Stochastic Recursive Inclusions with Non-Additive Iterate-Dependent Markov Noise

In this paper we study the asymptotic behavior of stochastic approximation schemes with set-valued drift function and non-additive iterate-dependent Markov noise. We show that a linearly interpolated trajectory of such a recursion is an asymptotic pseudotrajectory for the flow of a limiting differential inclusion obtained by averaging the set-valued drift function of the recursion w.r.t. the st...
